I was born and raised in Minnesota. Growing up, family dinner was always some kind of comfort food, from pot roast and hot dish (translation: casserole) to grandma’s wild rice soup and dad’s pancakes. I also have fond memories of December when our small kitchen/dining room would transform to a full production bakery. My grandma, Toots, would run the show. I still have her homemade cookbook which includes dozens of sweets from simple sugar cookies and Russian tea cakes to fudge and my favorite caramel rolls. The whole family would bake for weeks and send all my uncles, aunts, cousins and family friends a case of Christmas goodies. A true labor of love.
Fast forward to early 2016. Wanderlust led me up, down and around the east coast for almost a year before I landed in Boston. I began working at Flour after a recommendation from Shelby. It was a great fit because I have over a decade’s worth of experience in restaurants, hospitality and customer service. Flour has been kind and welcoming. I consider everyone I work with and the guests we serve my Boston family. Bonus! I get to enjoy a sticky bun everyday if I want, not just for the holidays.
Outside Flour you’ll find me looking for my next favorite book to read, exploring the city, drinking coffee and practicing yoga at home.
