nicolle maniscalco

Hi, I’m Nicolle (yes, with two “L’s”), and I grew up within earshot of the ocean on Long Island’s south shore. I love the ocean and could never imagine being far from it. Though, I took a short break away from it to pursue a BA in Mass Communications in eastern Pennsylvania. I returned to Long Island and worked for about a year with my uncle and brother but I wasn’t in a job I felt passionate about. Then I got a phone call from my cousin that changed everything.
My cousin lived in Brighton and needed a roommate. With the promise of a friendly husky, a couple of cool cats and her fiancée whom I already thought was pretty rad I packed up and moved north. The idea to pursue pastry came as an epiphany one night. While making an angel food cake to clear my head; my grandfather’s words came to me. He loved his work and said that it never felt like work because of that. I wanted that feeling for myself. I enrolled and graduated from Cambridge School of Culinary Arts and have since worked in several wonderful bakeries and restaurants though out the Boston area. I’ve grown from all the experiences I’ve had and love the people I’ve met through this journey and am grateful for the work we’ve done together. I’m proud to continue the journey here at Flour.
When I am not at work you can find me eating delicious snacks and drinking tasty drinks throughout the city or making my own, finding time to sit in the sun, reading and relaxing or listening to music turned up to 11.
