Born and raised in Cambridge, MA, I grew up with a love of baking (but mostly eating) sweets and desserts. Some of my fondest memories as a child are food related, from eating freshly baked chocolate chip cookies right from the oven or going to grandma’s house where she’d always have homemade rice pudding for my brother and I. During high school I took a cooking class as an elective during my “I don’t know what I want to do with my life” stage and my teacher suggested that I look into attending culinary school for college. I did just that and in 2006 I graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI with a Bachelor’s Degree in Baking & Pastry Arts. During my time at JWU, I worked at a well-known bakery in Providence. When I moved back home after graduation I decided to give the restaurant world a shot. I spent the last 7 years working in restaurants in the Boston area. Recently I realized that while I enjoy working in restaurants, my heart belongs in a bakery (after all, I would like to have my own one day). There’s no better bakery to be in Boston than at Flour and I’m happy to now be part of the Flour family!
